Founded in 1989 by João Paulo Janeiro, the Flores de Música group dedicates most of its activity to the execution and dissemination of music performed in Portugal in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
To this end, it assumes different configurations, from the trio to the late Baroque orchestra, and since 2005, it circumscribes its work to the exclusively instrumental repertoire. The repertoires he performs cover different musical genres from different schools. From these repertoires, he has presented several works in his first modern audition, among which, among others, the Te Deum and the Missa in F by Francisco António de Almeida stand out, for soloists, choir and orchestra - which he recorded for CD - as well as other composers. , namely, Luciano Xavier dos Santos, Pereira da Costa, Carlos Seixas and David Perez, of whom he presented the Matuttino de 'Morti ni CCB on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the 1755 earthquake. This work is also recorded for CD and will be out soon in the market.
He collaborated with the Ministry of Culture, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian and Centro Cultural de Belém in carrying out several concerts, namely, in the program of the Dissemination of the Performing Arts, at ACARTE, in the 'Festa da Música' and 'Dias da Música'. He has also performed numerous concerts and recordings also for the European cultural capitals of Lisbon and Porto and for RDP-Antena 2. He has performed at different music festivals in Portugal and Spain.
