Katarzyna Maria Cichoń

Katarzyna Maria Cichoń studied modern cello, baroque cello and chamber music in Krakow, Vienna and Salzburg. She has performed at the Oudemuziek Festival Utrecht, Festival für Neue Musik Darmstadt, Festival für Zeitgenössische Musik Warsaw, Mozartwoche Salzburg and Festival für Alte Musik ECOS (with Quartetto Nero as Artists in Residence). Also, she has performed at Carnegie Hall (NY), Musikverein and Konzerthaus Vienna, Beijing and Wuhan (China). Katarzyna regularly works with the orchestras Musicae Antiquae Collegium Varsoviense, Il Giardino d'Amore and Bach Consort Wien. With "Il Giardino d'Amore" she traveled to the USA, Canada, Norway and China and recorded numerous CDs. In 2015 she founded "Quartetto Nero." In 2016/17, the string quartet received prizes at the Poznan Early Music Competition and the Biagio Marini Competition in Neuburg. Since 2020 as concertmaster she cooperates with the Orchestre de l'Opéra Royal de Versailles. Katarzyna is a scholarship holder at "Young Poland 2019" and "Culture on the Net 2020". Since 2017, the cellist has been a soloist with the Bach Consort Vienna.
