Australian-born Hana Hobiger moved to Salzburg to pursue her studies with Thomas Riebl and Veronika Hagen, and has successfully established herself as a sought-after chamber musician and violist. From the beginning of her Masters studies at the Mozarteum Salzburg, she was fascinated by Baroque viola and historical performance practice, and received solo and chamber music lessons at the Early Music Department, especially by Midori Seiler and Reinhard Goebel. In Australia, she has been active in the Camerata - Queensland's Chamber Orchestra as member, section leader and soloist, and has taught classes in the Young Conservatorium Colourstrings program. Hana is a member of the Bach Consort Vienna since the beginning of 2022, beside she plays in the Armarte Piano Quartet, the Haydn Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Salzburg Baroque Ensemble Bach Werk Vocal. The violist has several prizes to her name, including the Fritz Gerber Award, John Curro Viola Prize, South Queensland Concerto Competition, Sydney Chamber Music Competition (finalist), and 4mbs Chamber Music Competition.
