Agnes Stradner is considered to be one of the most versatile Austrian violinists of her generation, specialising in historically informed practice on period instruments. She has performed in many of Europe’s most prestigious concert halls, including the Vienna Musikverein and Konzerthaus, Gasteig in München, Konzerthaus Berlin, Palau de la Musica Barcelona as a soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster.
Born into a Viennese family of musicians she finished her studies in Vienna and Detmold and has put her focus on chamber music (with Gerhard Schulz - Alban Berg Quartet, Young Uck Kim - Beaux Arts Trio and Eberhard Feltz, Berlin). Agnes Stradner has toured extensively with renowned baroque orchestras such as the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Balthasar Neumann Ensemble, Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra and Les Musiciens du Louvre Grenoble.
As a founder member of Bach Consort Wien, the leading Austrian ensemble on period instruments, Agnes Stradner lives her devotion to connection through music, with outstanding activities in concert tours, operas and numerous CD and DVD recordings.
She passes on her broad experience on the Baroque violin, -viola and chamber music as a teacher at Musikschule Wien and at international masterclasses, workshops and coachings.
She plays a violin by Giovanni Battista Grancino, Milano 1699.
